Job Description Summary Sporting Kansas City seeks a Video Production Manager to elevate the club's visual storytelling and content on social and digital platforms (including the new MLS/Apple partnership), in our stadium, within club advertising, sponsorships, and more.
This individual will help push creative boundaries - they will bring experience from working with industry pioneers to challenge the way in which we think about our video content and help us to reach our mission of being the premier sports club in the Midwest and Major League Soccer. The Video Production Manager will be a visionary who understands how to turn big ideas into tangible results for the organization. They will also be technically savvy and have the experience and skillset, not only to set a vision, but be able to manage all aspects of bringing that vision to life, including but not limited to: equipment, lighting, production, shooting and editing. They will be an exceptional people leader with a keen ability to motivate, guide and develop teams and will be passionate about the development of their organization. This individual will be expected to act as a producer/director on productions and should be equally able to effectively plan and communicate expectations, vision, and strategies to help engage our fans, drive revenue, and impact our community.

Job Description *Resumes should include a link to an online video portfolio* Essential Functions - Work with leadership to develop creative goals in alignment with Sporting's organizational and marketing goals (both soccer and non-soccer related)
- Initiate and lead ideation and storytelling across the organization with the goal of expanding the Sporting brand while continuing to connect with audiences both locally and globally (through the new MLS/Apple partnership).
- Lead and define storytelling through video content across the Club for online, social media, stadium videoboard, on-demand, and advertising - work with stakeholders from every department to guide storytelling and content approaches in alignment with the Sporting creative vision
- Create content and video concepts in accordance with our key moments, brand campaigns, and partnership obligations. Be able to prioritize these concepts by highest impact against our goals and drive focus for the video team towards what matters most
- Oversee and develop the video team - ensuring consistency and alignment to Sporting creative/brand strategy and standards
- Own schedule inclusive of production timeline, internal reviews, and reviews with internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Route edits for approvals, and prioritize, organize, and communicate notes to internal and external editors
- Supervise in-house and freelance video editors in data management of all footage, including backups and video archives, as well as asset delivery
- Work with Match Presentation to continue to better the fan experience at Children's Mercy Park
- Oversee the video production process and work with the Senior Manager, Creative Services to streamline production processes and content management
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all requisite software applications relative to video production and motion graphics and have the ability to put this knowledge into practice in the creation of content.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders internally and externally; work together to understand their needs and deliver against shared goals
- Partner with external agency partners as needed to align content to Sporting's vision, and keep projects on track with overall strategy and in alignment with the Sporting brand.
- Manage negotiations and partnerships with outside vendors including directors, DP's, editors, etc.
- Lead a high-performing and diverse team by setting clear expectations, providing appropriate coaching feedback, and developing staff
- Direct activities for the professional development of organizational team members, conducting creative workshops for staff members, implementing corrective strategies, and finding ways to grow and develop the content teams

Skills & Experience - 5+ years experience in video production or related field at an agency or at in-house environments
- 3+ years experience in a video leadership role
- Experience with lifestyle or cultural-impact brands a plus
- Long-form content experience a plus
- Hands-on experience producing engaging content for in-game videoboard production is preferred
- Deep craft experience in your creative field with a highly developed ability to develop strategic thinking and creative concepts that result in compelling campaigns and creative work
- Ability to creative direct all work, whether through external agencies, freelance vendors, or internal production resources, ensuring best-in-class work is delivered on time and within budget
- Experienced and well-versed in all facets of the video production process: experience with Cinema, Mirrorless, and DSLR cameras
- Video editing and motion-graphics experience with a keen eye for taste level and unique executions
- Design experience a plus (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere and After Effects, as well as familiarity with Photoshop and InDesign
- Strong experience with project management software and tools
- Experience developing ideas and assets across all platforms and channels
- A relationship builder with a proven ability to effectively collaborate
- Empathetic leader with experience driving a positive cultural change in growth situations
- Must be flexible to travel with assigned teams as required and work a non-traditional schedule
- Previous experience working in sports preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of soccer are preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Spanish fluency a plus, but not required
