Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria. Officina is the realization of Chef Stefanelli's career-long dream to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy together under one roof.

Our flagship is a three-story space home to an all-day cafe, highly-curated marketplace featuring sought-after ingredients and prepared specialty items, a casual trattoria rooted in classic Italian cuisine, rare Amaro Library, versatile private event spaces, and year-round rooftop.

Preferred Qualifications

*Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality service 

*Court of Master Sommeliers’ Certification or higher preferred 

*Advanced knowledge of Italian wines and regions

*Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, accounting software, and POS system(s)

Key Responsibilities

*Oversee and assist the entire front of the house team with all aspects of service 

*Recommending and navigating an extensive wine list with over 150 Italian and French selections 

*Manage all aspects of inventory and purchasing

*Hold declining budget 

*Deliver consistent increase in wine sales month over month

*Conduct monthly wine education for FOH staff and test for wine knowledge

*Oversee and ensure daily ordering, restocking, and organizing wine cellar

*Promoting and executing monthly wine dinners and educational events for the public

*Continuously strive for Officina’s wine program to be amongst the most compelling in Washington, D.C., with the ultimate goal of recognition by industry publications

*Work a minimum of three floor shifts a week

Physical Requirements

*Ability to stand/walk for extended periods 

*Ability to lift over 50lbs occasionally

*All employees are to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance (specifics will be provided)
