Multimedia Journalist

KOKI/Fox23 Tulsa has an opening for a dynamic, deadline-driven journalist who wants to make a difference. FOX23 is an exciting place to work. We are thriving in an active market with its share of weather and breaking news. We are looking for a journalist who is passionate about delivering viewer-driven newscasts. You will be part of a collaborative newsroom where we mentor, train, and coach you. We also have monthly in-house workshops where we push ourselves to learn and work smarter. We need that because our newsroom is a fast-paced environment where accuracy is a must and innovative people thrive. You will be responsible for pitching and producing enterprising content that engages our news viewers across all our platforms.

What you will do:

• Write, shoot, edit and present compelling content both on-air and online.
• Post content and engage with audiences on social media platforms.
• Demonstrate solid news judgment and storytelling abilities, with a passion for delivering original, imaginative content every day.
• Excel at breaking news and enterprise significant, local stories.
• Some anchoring may be involved.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Strong on-air presence.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Open to receiving coaching and feedback.
• Operate and maintain a professional quality video camera and related news gathering equipment.
• Be familiar with and understand non-linear editing techniques to meet deadlines and create high-impact stories.
• Understand how to properly light interviewees in the field.
• Candidate must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
• Knowledge of the Tulsa DMA and Oklahoma is helpful.
• Knowledge of non-linear editing software.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to carry and set up a camera on a tripod.
