Java Enterprise Architect

Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Java Enterprise Architect with 10-15+ years of experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications, collaborating with product managers, designers, and clients to quickly deliver valuable working software. Roles/Responsibilities

1. Evaluate solutions to centralize and migrate application integrations.
2. Develop standards for data architecture, system integration, and governance frameworks for consumption across the organization.
3. Develop strategy and recommendations for system architecture and technology stack upgrades, migrations, consolidation, and rollout methodology.
4. Replace manual efforts with workflow automations to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of bank resources.
5. Interact with all system vendors to resolve problems quickly and accurately.
6. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide expert advice on the use of integration technology and data architecture including best practices.
7. Deliver proof of concept, contribute to ongoing development efforts, and perform advanced code/configuration review to ensure solutions align with architecture standards.
8. Develop documentation of system design and integration flows, including sources of truth and ETL actions.
9. Oversee related steps within the Software Development Life Cycle to ensure standards adherence including detailed technical specifications.
10. Create design documents and specifications as appropriate for internal resources and managed service providers to develop integrations as needed.
11. Assist with incident response, root cause, business continuity, and associated monitoring capabilities to improve these activities.
12. Responsible for including security by design within the integration architecture.
13. Effectively communicate program efforts across various levels of management to advance the program.
14. Provide leadership by instructing, mentoring, and training team members across the Bank.

Required Qualifications

1. A minimum of 15 years of experience across development, data, and integration platforms of 35+ applications.
2. Knowledge of integration and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices.
3. Knowledge of common system integration methods including web services, SOAP, JSON, XML, batch, and business process automation.
4. Expertise in solution design and development, enterprise application support, and vendor relationship management.
5. Experience working with APIs from commercial software applications.
6. Strong technical background, strong written and oral communication skills, project management skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
7. Ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions, propose resolutions, and coordinate their implementation.
8. Implement and document standard procedures for integration design, data flows, security configuration, business continuity, and regulatory compliance.
9. Support, transfer knowledge, and mentor other department employees.

Salary and Other Compensation :

The annual salary for this position is between $110,250 - $174,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
