Our team of experts specialize in forensic engineering, accident reconstruction, building consulting, and fire cause and origin.

Job Overview: U.S. Forensic is seeking highly skilled and motivated Professional Engineers specializing in Structural or Mechanical Forensics. The successful candidate will play a key role in investigating and analyzing structural failures, construction defects, accidents, and catastrophic losses caused by extreme weather events. This position requires a strong background in structural or mechanical engineering and the ability to provide expert testimony when necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed forensic investigations of structural failures, collapses, and construction defects
  • Perform site inspections and gather relevant data to support forensic analysis
  • Utilize engineering principles and practices to analyze and assess structural issues
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports outlining findings and conclusions that can stand up in a court of law
  • Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, and standards related to structural engineering
Qualifications:
  • Must be a licensed P.E.(or eligible by reciprocity) in the assigned state with an active NCEES record
  • 2+ years' of forensic engineering experience is strongly preferred, however we will consider highly qualified P.E.s with a desire to learn forensics
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including working outside and sometimes in extreme weather conditions
  • You must be able to work in confined spaces, walk on roofs using appropriate safety equipment, carry ladders, and operate other equipment such as man lifts
  • The ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed is a must, and sometimes on short notice
  • You should be able to work independently and also with a cross-functional team of other professionals
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple case files
  • Strong technical writing skills and excellent verbal communication skills are required.
  • You must be comfortable in face-to-face interactions with clients, with the ability to provide the utmost in customer service.
  • Technical proficiency with basic office software
  • Expert Witness experience is a huge plus
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or any restrictions
Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required. A Master of Science Degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable
