Job Description
War on the Rocks , the flagship publication of Metamorphic Media, is looking to fill roles focused on editorial management. If you are committed to the clear communication of sophisticated ideas about international security, this full-time position might be right for you.
Please note this is not a remote position. We have a hybrid schedule of three days in the office a week (T, W, Th). As such, we will only consider candidates who live in the Washington, DC metro area or who are willing to relocate there.
What We Are Looking For
We have posted this job announcement primarily in response to the unfortunate layoffs at Military Times , Defense News , and other outlets. War on the Rocks is in need of filling out its director layer of editorial management. This announcement does not describe a specific position, but rather a set of needs related to management, leadership, and the improvement/supervision of processes that power the creation of our high-quality articles, podcasts, and newsletters. Please note, this is not a role for people interested in working as journalists, but the skills and experience people have in defense journalism could be relevant to the role(s) we are looking to fill.

War on the Rocks is focused on growing and serving a community passionate about strategy, defense, and foreign affairs. It is the flagship publication of Metamorphic Media, a D.C.-based media company. Founded in 2013, War on the Rocks aims to improve the professional and public discourse on issues of strategic importance by featuring experienced and authoritative voices in articles, essays, and podcasts.
