Job Description: The Corporate Sponsorship Manager will lead the development of the event sponsorship sales strategy and drive revenue growth for the event sponsorship program. This role will be focused on creating and implementing sales plans to meet and exceed event sponsorship revenue goals through effective prospecting, qualifying leads, closing opportunities and growing current clients.
Your consultative and strategic approach to sales and relationship building will be key to meeting goals and deepening brand connections to our customers.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented self-starter with a consistent record of closing business, and a proven ability to build pipelines, develop opportunities, and execute strategic account plans.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Build and manage a sponsorship sales strategy to obtain inbound and outbound prospect pipelines
- Continuously identify opportunities to develop new or custom sponsorship packages while ensuring opportunity valuation aligns with market trends and client needs
- Collaborate with key firm partners and the Business Development and Marketing teams to identify sponsor prospects among the firm's existing client base
- Understand the specialty focus areas of the partners and firm practice groups to identify new sponsorship prospects within the events the attorneys are leading
- Gather competitive intelligence to develop a targeted sponsor acquisition strategy and drive new business from prospecting to close
- Maintain a timely reporting of all pipeline activity, including leads, prospective clients, forecasts and existing client demographics, contact information, activity and account planning information in Salesforce
- Use third-party research tools to identify key sponsor prospects and targets that align with target sponsor profiles
- Present event sponsorship opportunities to senior executive audiences, including clients, display a strong capability to manage these critical interactions and exhibiting a commanding presence in the boardroom
- Negotiate sponsorship agreements and contracts
- Oversee the sales closure process and ensure flawless execution of completion activities, including fulfillment
- Oversee sponsorship accounts receivables and promptly resolve past due accounts
Job Specifications: - Bachelor's degree
- 5 -10 years of related work experience in a sales focused role
- Experience in sponsorship strategy and managing sponsorship or sales campaigns end to end (from contract negotiation to delivery of deliverables)
- Experience working with corporate sponsorship programs (i.e. companies that have a lot of sponsorship visibility (i.e. AWS, American Airlines, Rolex, etc)
- Knowledge of event project management a plus
- Knowledge of demographic and psychographic make-up of client audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including diplomacy, presentation skills and a polished executive presence
- Strong organizational and project and timeline management skills, including the ability to anticipate problems before they arise
- Knowledge of budgets and financial reporting
- Experience working within a matrix organization and with leading, coaching and influencing people
- Ability to negotiate contracts and work with the internal procurement team
- Ability to travel and manage sponsor operations onsite at events, as needed
Successful candidates will be provided with outstanding career opportunities and will receive a competitive total rewards package with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses. Compensation for this position is salary-based and does not have a commission component.
Target Hiring Range $113,000 - $158,000
Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
