\nThis position will be Primary shifts are M-F, however, the position requires some flexibility regarding shift time and may flexed to evenings/weekends/nights depending on needs
\nAbout the Unit:
\nThe Rehab Unit is a 24 bed post-acute facility that offers Inpatient Rehabilitation level of care, inclusive of 24 hr Rehab nursing, intensive PT/OT/SLP services all coordinated with the specialty of Physical Medicine, and Rehab (PMR) physician oversight.
\nOur unit population generally consists of Stroke, neurological disorders, complex orthopedic, brain injury and spinal cord injury (without bowel/bladder involvement) patients. Our patients are expected to need/participate in intensive therapy services of two or more (PT/OT/SLP) whereby the patient is expected to participate in a minimum of 180 minutes (3 hrs) or more of therapy daily.
\n Purpose:
The Clinician is a nurse leader who has direct responsibility in the achievement of a culture of excellence and patient care. The Clinician is a highly developed role model of professional nursing practice. Under the general direction of the Unit Director or other department manager, the Clinician will complete and deliver employee evaluations, conduct selection and hiring of staff, and manage the daily performance for a group of direct reports. The Clinician is responsible for providing service-based education and clinical expertise for staff including orientation and training, consultation on practice issues, and general coordination of clinical activities. Additionally, the Clinician may have shift accountability for delivering nursing care when needed.
Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
\nMaster's degree preferred.
\nBS/BSN required. If BS degree not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.
\nMust demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
\nAbility to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
\nExemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
